Created in 1966, the Quernon d'Ardoise is made of a thin nougatine with almonds and caramelised hazelnuts, coated in a blue chocolate made with 100% pure cocoa butter. Free from palm oil, preservatives, gluten and colourings, and made with naturally plant-based colours, its shape and colour evoke the slate roofs of Angers houses as well as several monuments such as the Château d'Angers, Le Plessis-Macé, Chambord, and some of our churches.
The Quernon d'Ardoise is deeply linked to the heritage of Anjou. It isn't just delicious: it tells a story - that of the slate miners who shaped our region. Slate, once nicknamed "blue gold", contributed to the wealth of Anjou. This is the memory that the Quernon d'Ardoise celebrates, with indulgence and pride.
